Camp Flytrap and School’s Out Camps at the North Carolina Botanical Garden center on connecting children to nature through direct experience—helping them build confidence, ask questions, and develop a genuine appreciation for the living world. Set among native plant gardens, shady forest paths, peaceful creek trails, and a state-of-the-art green education center, the camp offers a vibrant outdoor classroom where kids explore and learn through hands-on adventures. With small groups and experienced naturalists guiding the way, campers dive into the wonders of North Carolina’s plants, animals, and ecosystems. Plenty of unhurried time outside encourages observation, imagination, and a sense of belonging in nature.
