Camp Invention® inspires curiosity and builds STEM skills through inventive camps for elementary-aged children. With a focus on creativity and hands-on learning, kids connect with the stories of world-changing inventors, enjoy problem-solving games, and take on exciting challenges. Each day is packed with discovery—campers might design a prototype to solve a global challenge, build imaginative contraptions using upcycled materials, or explore the creative process behind the inventions we know and use every day. Guided by experienced local educators, kids dive into science, technology, engineering, and math challenges that inspire persistence and build skills and confidence. Outdoor play and group games provide energizing breaks between activities, ensuring time for friendship and fun. Collaboration is at the heart of every challenge, as campers share ideas, test designs, and celebrate breakthroughs together. Participants leave with new friends, fresh ideas, and the mindset of an innovator—ready to see the world not just as it is, but as it could be. Camp Invention® is a program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame® and operates at 1,400 locations nationwide. Most Triangle-area locations are operated out of partnering schools, so it’s easy to find a location that’s convenient for your family!
Schedule and booking
Weeklong summer and track out camps typically run from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday-Friday. Some programs offer early care starting at 7:30 AM and after care ending at 5:30 PM. Schedules vary by location, so make sure to select the location you wish to attend.
