Camp Evergreen is Durham Academy’s core day camp, offering a lively mix of traditional camp activities within a close-knit small group community. Based at the Preschool/Lower School area of the school’s 84-acre campus, campers rotate through thoughtfully-designed activities exploring nature, sports, the arts, technology, and life skills. State-of-the-art facilities and expansive green spaces give campers room to play, imagine, and grow. Each week focuses on a special theme and each camp day brings an enriching lineup of activities to keep kids moving, learning, and having fun. Evergreen Teen Scene adds age-appropriate experiences for middle-school campers, including creative workshops, collaborative activities, and local field trips. Open play is also built into each day’s schedule, offering time for conversation and connection. Guided by dedicated staff and grounded in Durham Academy’s mission, Camp Evergreen creates a warm, spirited community where campers build confidence, stretch their abilities, and discover new passions.
Schedule and booking
Camp Evergreen is offered by the week throughout each summer. A full camp day runs from 9 AM – 4 PM with optional before care starting at 7:30 AM and after care ending at 5:30 PM. Younger campers (rising pre-K – K) have a shorter camp day, running from 9 AM – 2 PM with optional before care starting at 7:30 AM and after care ending at 4 PM.
