At Center Theater Company, kids are invited to step into the spotlight and take the lead in creating their own theatrical experience. Held in a professional black box theater in the heart of Carrboro, this camp gives young performers the chance to act, sing, dance, and shape every aspect of their show. From costume choices to staging ideas, camper voices are heard, valued, and encouraged. Each day is packed with fun, movement, and imagination—group games, creative warmups, rehearsals, and hands-on crafts all lead toward a fully staged mini-production by week’s end. Campers learn songs, practice scenes, and explore how to express themselves on stage while working as a team. The camp’s approach focuses on confidence, collaboration, and creative freedom. While instructors guide the process, kids are encouraged to bring their ideas forward and take ownership of the work they help build. Whether it’s suggesting a modern song for a classic play or inventing new choreography, performers are celebrated for thinking big and trying new things.
