At the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, campers become scientists, explorers, artists, and inventors as they dive into a world of discovery through hands-on, science-centered experiences. Each camp day is filled with interactive activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, all set in one of the state’s most engaging learning environments. Campers might examine fossils with real paleontologists, experiment with flight by building their own gliders, or dive into the mysteries of marine life using real-world research tools. From exploring “ologies” like zoology and entomology to coding custom video games or designing space rovers, every program is carefully designed to bring science to life. Live animals, behind-the-scenes tours, and unique lab-based experiments deepen each camper’s experience and connection to the natural world. Whether learning about ecosystems, the science of food, or the future of space exploration, campers gain knowledge, confidence, and a lifelong love of science. Each program is a chance to wonder, question, create—and have serious fun doing it.
